Sorry for the lack of notice, Takasu-san, Veronica-san. There's a guy outside with a pillow under his arm and small bag in his hand. His expression is pretty unsettled and he's looking for his ace.]

["I'll get it!" sounds out from behind the door, and not a few seconds later a smiling, towering ace opens it to greet Izumida with enthusiasm.]

Izumida-san, hello!

[...Oh, that's not a good expression at all. The smile drops, replaced by his famous worry.]

I'm all right, just tired. Did you get to go to the carnival?

[He did. This was his first exposure to these kinds of Holly Heights shenanigans and it's taken a bit of a toll on him.]

... Do you mind if I stay here tonight?

Yes, I saw Jun-chan and a few other members of our team. I'm glad to see they're all alright.

[Even if some of them are sort of smelling of pig muck right now and others are losing hard at carnival games, but. fundamentally they're alright.

Still, not the most important thing to be concerned about here.]

Of course you can, Izumida-san.

[It's not in his nature to push at issues (quite the opposite, in fact). Nevertheless, the concern doesn't leave his face as he pulls the door open wider, and it's likely to not disappear until he knows what's going on.]

You saw other people from Hakone? Who else was here? I only saw Fukutomi-san...

[Adding insult to the injury. He probably missed them in his attempt to flee from Machimiya. That guy just has a way of ruining things.

Still, he manages a smile as he comes inside. Ashikiba's clearly worried and that wasn't the intention.]

Thank you. I didn't want to stay in the murder zoo tonight.

Oh, I saw Shinkai-san, I think. And maybe Arakita-san... I think.

[Yeah, it was crowded, and the latter may have been Imaizumi. They're very similar from the back, you know.

Well, alright. The concern doesn't leave his face when Izumida thanks him and gives him the reason why, but it transformed into the active panic form of concern when he's finished.]

M-Murder zoo?! There was a zoo for murderers there?! I-Isn't that just a prison?!

[FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT, ASHIKIBA...]

[Izumida's eyes go wide and he gasps, lifting a hand to his chest. Oh no...]

Shinkai-san. I didn't even realize he was here.

[All the time he wasted running away from Machimiya, he could've spent seeing Shinkai-san. It feels like an even bigger violation now, knowing that.

At least he has Ashikiba's panic to distract him. He leaves Frank alone, instead reaching up (and up) to put a hand on Ashikiba's shoulder.]

Sorry! It's just how I think of my house. The people I'm living with have a lot of pets and they like to remind me that they killed people before they got here. Most of the time I just do my best to get along with them anyway, but it's been a long couple of days.

Besides, I didn't see you at the carnival so I wanted to come by!

[Sorry, Izumida. The shoulder pat did not help.

If you wanted to discuss the carnival, Shinkai, or anything other than the fact that you're living with killers, you're out of luck. The panic is not going to be set aside for any of these topics.]

Izumida-san, that's- If they're murderers, it should be more than getting along with them! Are you in danger?! A-Are they threatening you?!

[He's not the one living with homicidal 12 year olds, and yet he's clearly the one much, much more panicked about the situation.

Actually, it's probably more towards hysterical at this point. His hands dive into his pocket, grabbing his phone and hoping that he actually managed to remember to charge it this time.]

Police! We have to call the police! I-I don't actually know if there's a police force here but we have to call somebody!

[HE'S ALREADY STARTED DIALING... SOMEBODY...]

[AH NO STOP STOP STAHP

Izumida reaches out to put a hand on Ashikiba's wrist. Normally Izumida's right there with turning to authority if somehow things can't be settled in a sportsmanlike fashion, but this time he's not sure it'll help.

He's also starting to feel really bad about telling Ashikiba about this. There's a reason he doesn't talk about his home life a whole lot.]

Please don't, Ashikiba? I'm worried if something happens with them they'll just get angry and things have been peaceful lately! They haven't threatened me at all since the first night!

[Yukihina-san made it clear he wouldn't intervene if Izumida were to be, say, eaten by a dragon, but that's not the same, and anyway, he's much more worried about Ashikiba right now.]

I'm fine and if things get out of control, I can always come here. I'm glad to have members of my team around me so that I know I can get out of the house if I need to. Because I can come here, right?

[Look at your captain, Ashikiba. Focus on him and calm dooooooown.]
